Первый министр Шотландии Никола Стерджен объявила, что шотландское правительство начнет подготовку законодательной базы для нового референдума о независимости от Великобритании.

На прошлой неделе она также сказала, что в стране будет проведено исследование общественного мнения по этому вопросу, сообщает ВВС

Ранее Стерджен заявляла, что выход Великобритании из Европейского союза в результате референдума, проводившегося в июне, означает автоматический выход и Шотландии из ЕС - а это может не совпадать с мнением большинства жителей страны.

В сентябре 2014 года в Шотландии уже проводился референдум о независимости.

Тогда 55% жителей страны проголосовали против выхода из состава Великобритании, за независимость высказались 45% проголосовавших.
