Российский пропагандистский телеканал Russia Today бузет регистрироваться в Соединенных Штатах Америки как иностранный агент согласно требованию Минюста этой страны. Об этом сообщила главный редактор RT Маргарита Симоньян. «Минюст США нам просто не оставил другого выбора: по словам юристов, если мы не зарегистрируемся как иностранный агент, руководителя компании в Соединенных Штатах могут арестовать, могут быть арестованы счета компании. Одним словом, в таких условиях работа компании не представляется возможной», - заявила она.
В то же время, требования американской стороны, по словам Симоньян, носят «дискриминационный» характер, который противоречит «принципам демократии и свободы слова» и который ставит RT в неравные условия по сравнению с другими работающими зарубежными каналами, вещающими в США. Главред RT анонсировала обращение в суд.
Ранее американский Минюст предъявил требования RT зарегистрировать в качестве «иностранного агента» компанию, предоставляющую услуги для представительства телеканала в Соединенных Штатах.
