Посол США в Україні Джеффрі Пайєтт заявляє, що російський державний телеканал «Россия 1» (ВДТРК) перекрутив його слова, приписавши американському послу начебто «пораду» для Ігоря Коломойського піти у відставку. Про це американський посол написав у своєму мікроблозі на Twitter.

«Потворне перекручування фактів Росією-1, які стверджують, що в інтерв'ю укр ЗМІ я порадив Коломойському піти у відставку. Попросту брехня», - заявив Джеффрі Пайєтт.

Тим, хто сумнівається в правдивості його слів, посол пропонує прочитати або послухати російську версію інтерв'ю, у якій немає ані слова про відставку Ігоря Коломойського.

«Така явна брехня підкреслює, чому рос. держ. ЗМІ переживають кризу довіри. Навіщо брехати, якщо факти можна легко перевірити?», - зауважив Джеффрі Пайєтт.
