Власники смартфонів і планшетів від Apple поскаржилися на гомофобію в російськомовній версії персонального помічника Siri.

Новий додаток від Apple розпізнає голосові запити, знаходить відповіді в інтернеті і зачитує їх вголос. Наприклад, в ролику, розміщеному на Youtube, користувач розмовляє зі своїм смартфоном. "Я б почервоніла, якщо б могла", - відповіла Siri автору відео на запит "гей-клуби навколо мене". На прохання розповісти про одностатеві шлюби додаток спочатку відмовчується, а потім заявляє: "Я зроблю вигляд, що не чула цього". На третє питання на ту ж тему Siri відповідає: "Які ви грубі!".

Версії цього додатка на інших мовах на запити про найближчі гей-клуби просто видають адреси.

Підтримка російської мови з'явилася в Siri на початку квітня після того, як вийшло оновлення операційної системи iOS для смартфонів і планшетів.

Зауважимо, що президент Apple Тім Кук восени 2014 року зізнався, що він гомосексуаліст.
