Російські аккаунти у Twitter розмістили майже 45 000 повідомлень про Brexit протягом 48 годин 23 і 24 червня минулого року, намагаючись посіяти розбрат під час голосування щодо Brexit.

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда із посиланням на газета The Times

Більше 150 000 аккаунтів, що базуються в Росії, у своїх дописах раніше обмежувалися такими, як криза в Україні, звернули увагу на Brexit у дні, що передували минулорічному голосуванню.

Пік російської активності припав на 23 червня, день референдуму, і 24 червня, коли був оголошений результат. Якщо до 13 червня менше 1000 постів з російських облікових записів стосувалися Brexit, то 24 червня цей показник сягнув 39 тисяч постів.

При цьому значна частина цих повідомлень розміщувалася ботами.  Аналіз показує, що такі твіти переглядали сотні мільйонів разів.

Більшість твітів, які досліджували науковці, заохочувала людей голосувати за вихід з ЄС. Щоправда були і такі, які були за збереження Британії у ЄС.

Як повідомлялося, 1 листопада Британська виборча комісія розпочала розслідування у справі про фінансування кампанії за вихід з ЄС на тлі побоювань щодо можливого російського втручання у демократичні процеси.
