Народні депутати ухвалили закон, який посилює кримінальну відповідальність за злочини проти журналістів та встановлює компенсацію у разі загибелі чи поранення працівника ЗМІ під час виконання професійних обов'язків.

За відповідне рішення 240 народних обранців, передає Укрінформ.

Законодавчим актом, зокрема, встановлено додаткові гарантії безпеки законної професійної діяльності журналістів, зокрема, посилено кримінальну відповідальність за вчинення злочинів проти журналістів.

Документ доповнює Кримінальний кодекс низкою спеціальних складів злочинів, якими передбачена кримінальна відповідальність за такі злочинні діяння, як: погроза або насильство щодо журналіста, умисне знищення або пошкодження майна журналіста, посягання на життя журналіста та захоплення журналіста як заручника.

Крім того, законом також встановлено компенсаційні виплати в разі загибелі чи поранення журналістів під час виконання ними професійних обов'язків.

Відповідні зміни внесено до закону "Про державну підтримку засобів масової інформації та соціальний захист журналістів".
