Президент Франції Еммануель Макрон виступить з великою промовою, у якій опише Brexit як сигнал європейцям прокинутись і закличе Європу бути більш напористою поряд із конкуруючими світовими державами.

Про це повідомляє агенство Reuters із посиланням на помічників Макрона.

Місце і дата виступу ще не встановлені, але помічники французького президента стверджують, що промова стане найважливішою з часу виступу Макрона в Сорбоннському університеті в Парижі у вересні 2017 року, коли він закликав до фундаментальної реформи Європейського союзу.

Його слова стануть "попереджувальним пострілом" для континенту, заявили помічники Макрона. "Якщо ми, європейці, не хочемо мати інших Brexit і не хочемо потрапити в пастку наївної оборони у статусі-кво, ми повинні прокинутися", - заявило джерело у коментарі агентству.

Промова Макрона збігається у часі зі зростанням напруженості на Заході, викликаною політикою президента США Дональда Трампа "Америка передусім" і виходом Британії з ЄС. Більш напористі Китай і Росія також створюють серйозні проблеми для блоку.

У промові французький лідер зосередиться на підтримці "Європи, яка захищає" перед європейськими виборами 26 травня і спробує переконати виборців у необхідності реформування європейської торгової, конкурентної, цифрової і кліматичної політики.

Також він спробує переконати європейських колег почати думати про ЄС як про більш жорсткого геополітичного гравця у безжальному світі.
