Розуміючи важливість забезпечення участі громадян в управлінні державними справами, у відповідь на ініціативу громадських активістів, Міністр інформаційної політики України Юрій Стець ініціював створення при МІП Громадської ради.Про це повідомляється на сайті відомства.

Цей постійно діючий колегіальний, консультативно-дорадчий орган буде утворений для здійснення громадського контролю за діяльністю органу виконавчої влади, налагодження ефективної взаємодії МІП з громадськістю та врахування громадської думки під час формування та реалізації державної політики.

У своїй діяльності Міністерство інформаційної політики стоїть на позиціях захисту свободи слова, додаючи усіх зусиль по втіленню на практиці демократичних цінностей та принципу відкритості влади
