Президентські вибори в Польщі призначені на 10 травня, оголосив маршал Сейму Радослав Сікорський.

Ця дата близька за часом до урочистостей з нагоди 70-річчя закінчення Другої світової війни, але пан Сікорський заявив, що не бачить підстав турбуватися про цей збіг,пише ВВС Україна

Раніше Польща і Росія вступили у дипломатичну суперечку щодо місця проведення параду Перемоги.

За традицією, парад Перемоги проходить у Москві 9 травня. Польща, як і багато інших країн Заходу, відзначають закінчення війни 8 травня.

Президент Польщі Броніслав Коморовський запропонував провести польський парад в Вестерплатте на березі Балтійського моря, де німці завдали удару по Польщі у перший день війни 1 вересня 1939 року.

Конкуренцію панові Коморовському на виборах мають намір скласти консерватор Анджей Дуда, депутат сейму Анна Гродська, яка змінила стать з чоловічої на жіночу, та 35-річна красуня Магдалена Огорек, колишня телеведуча.
