Президент Южной Кореи Пак Кын Хе, вокруг которой разгорелся коррупционный скандал, заявила, что ее дальнейшую судьбу должен решать парламент страны, сообщает ВВС.

В телеобращении к нации она извинилась за произошедшее и подчеркнула, что в случае необходимости готова уйти в отставку до окончания президентского срока в 2018 году.

20 ноября прокуратура страны распространила предварительные результаты расследования по делу подруги президента Чхве Сун Силь.

Ей и еще двум бывшим сотрудникам администрации президента предъявлены обвинения в коррупции, вымогательстве и злоупотреблении служебными полномочиями.

Предполагается, что они заставили более чем 50 южнокорейских компаний перечислить десятки миллионов долларов в два контролируемых Чхве Сун Силь фонда.

Следствие полагает, что президент знала о происходящем. В Южной Корее ранее прошли многотысячные акции протеста, в ходе которых демонстранты требовали отставки президента.
