Прем'єр-міністр Мальти Джозеф Мускат заявив про проведення дострокових парламентських виборів 3 червня.

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда з посиланням на Neweurope.eu.

Мускат зробив цю заяву напередодні, 1 травня, перед багатотисячним натовпом прихильників Лейбористської партії у Валлетті. Заява була зроблена після зустрічі з президентом Мальти Марі-Луїз Колейро Прека.

Як відомо, на останніх виборах у 2013 році перемогу отримала Лейбористська партія на чолі з Джозефом Мускатом, наступні вибори повинні були пройти в 2018 році.

Головним опонентом Муската є лідер Націоналістичної партії Мальти Сімон Бусуттіл.

"3 червня Мальта зробить вибір: повернути час назад чи рухатися вперед", - написав у своєму Twitter прем'єр-міністр.

Повідомляється, що мальтійський прем'єр-міністр звинувачує опозицію у фабрикації брехні проти нього, підриві політичної та економічної стабільності.

Зазначається, що найбільшим викликом для Муската є так звана історія з Panama leaks: зокрема, з'ясувалося, що дружина Муската, Мішель, нібито володіє офшорною компанією. Нещодавно Мускат заявив, що він "чистий".
