Оскільки 24 вересня жоден з кандидатів в президенти Естонії не зміг отримати більшість голосів Колегії вибірників за підсумками двох турів, на 3 жовтня призначені повторні вибори.

Про це повідомляється на сторінці парламенту Естонії Рійгікогу.

"Оскільки жоден з кандидатів не отримав необхідної більшості голосів у другому турі, 3 жовтня 2016 року вибори Президента Республіки знову відбудуться в Рійгікогу", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Варто відзначити, що 3 жовтня в Естонії відбудуться фактично нові вибори, які передбачають нове висування кандидатів.

В Естонії дворівневі вибори президента. Спочатку президента обирає парламент, для перемоги претенденту необхідно було набрати не менше 2/3 голосів депутатів.

Так як парламентський раунд у серпні виявився безрезультатним, право на обрання президента було передано Колегії вибірників, в яку входять всі 101 депутат парламенту і 234 представника місцевих самоврядувань.

Як повідомляв PRпортал, оскільки і другий раунд виявився безрезультатним, вибори знову переходять до парламенту, де вони повинні бути організовані протягом 14 днів.
