С сегодняшнего дня пользователям Twitter всего мира доступна функция сокрытия ответов на их твиты, сообщается в блоге компании. Ответы останутся в ленте, но для их просмотра стороннему пользователю надо будет нажать на серый значок в ленте, тогда ему станет доступен весь разговор.

Как показало тестирование новой функции, чаще всего люди скрывают ответы, которые не относятся к теме обсуждения или просто раздражают. Для многих эта возможность стала способом избавится от лишнего шума, не прибегая к таким радикальным мерам, как блокировка пользователей. 85% людей, которые скрывают ответы, даже не отключают уведомления.

Многие хотели увидеть, как этим нововведением будут пользоваться известные политики и журналисты, но они пока не очень стремятся скрывать ответы. В Канаде по итогам эксперимента 27% людей, чьи твиты скрывали, сообщили, что намерены пересмотреть свою модель общения с другими людьми. Были и такие пользователи, которые сообщили, что побоялись пользоваться новой функцией, опасаясь мести.

Компания продолжает работать над улучшением безопасности и комфортности общения. Сейчас разработчики продумывают новые варианты управления беседой в Twitter. Например, они задумались над созданием возможности настраивать разную видимость бесед для разных людей.
