Соціал-демократичний уряд Румунії отримав підтримку парламенту після того як правоцентристська опозиція ініціювала вотум недовіри уряду.

Вотум недовіри провалився, оскільки керівна Соціал-демократична партія і її союзники партія ALDE та партія етнічних угорців UDMR, які утримують за собою 61% місць у парламенті, утрималися від голосування.

Для оголошення вотуму недовіри потрібні були 233 голоси, або половина депутатів.

Президент Румунії Клаус Йоханніс дорікнув уряду за те, що він робить "занадто мало" для вирішення кризи, яка почалася у країні після ухвалення скандальної постанови про амністію корупціонерів. Однак при цьому він виключив дострокові вибори у країні.

Нагадаємо, уряд Румунії 5 лютого скасував постанову про внесення поправок до кримінального кодексу і про амністію для корупціонерів, що призвела до масових протестів по всій країні.

Постанова передбачала декриміналізацію корупційних діянь і випадків перевищення повноважень та зловживання службовим становищем, якщо збитки не перевищують 200 тисяч леїв (47 800 доларів).

Необхідність амністії для окремих категорій злочинців в уряді раніше пояснили переповненістю в'язниць.
