Во вторник, 9 августа, оппозиционный депутат Дритон Кауши от партии Самоопределение (Vetevendosje) распылил слезоточивый газ в парламенте Косово в знак протеста против голосования в парламенте по ратификации спорного соглашения о демаркации границы с Черногорией.

Как сообщает Новое время со ссилкой на IntelliNews, кроме того, неизвестный бросил ручную гранату в дом главы правительственной комиссии по демаркации, Мурата Mеха.

Оппозиционные партии Косово против соглашения о демаркации границы, подписанного Косово и Черногорией 26 августа 2015 года и ставшего одной из двух причин глубокого политического кризиса. В частности, оппозиция и жители приграничного региона утверждают, что сделка лишает Косово нескольких тысяч гектаров земли.

Несмотря на инцидент, проект документа о ратификации был передан в парламент. Голосование должно состояться 11 августа.

Спикер парламента Косово Кадри Весели заявил, что инцидент "представляет собой наказуемое деяние, а также предупреждение". Он назвал произошедшее "тревожными тенденциями попирания верховенства закона в Косово."
