Президент США Барак Обама во вторник впервые выступил во время предвыборного митинга избирателей Демократической партии в Северной Каролине в поддержку кандидата Хиллари Клинтон.

Об этом сообщает собственный корреспондент Укринформа в США.

"Я пришел сюда, поскольку верю в Хиллари Клинтон и хочу, чтобы она стала следующим президентом", - заявил Обама с трибуны рядом с кандидатом от демократов.

Он подчеркнул, что "имел шанс увидеть вблизи", насколько бывший госсекретарь является умной и подготовленной. При этом он подчеркнул, что эти качества Клинтон демонстрировала даже тогда, когда дела шли не очень хорошо – она просто становилась сильнее.

Говоря о другом кандидате в президенты США - Дональде Трампе, - Обама ни разу не назвал его по имени.

"Я знаю, что другой парень говорит о том, как вернуть Америке величие. Америка и так велика", - заявил американский президент.

Характеризуя выбор между кандидатами, он отметил, что это будет выбор между тем, будут ли американцы цепляться за воображаемое прошлое, или же стремиться достичь нового успеха в будущем. В этой связи действующий президент подчеркнул, что Хиллари будет работать именно на будущее.
