Выборы в штате Огайо могут существенно повлиять на ход президентской гонки, пишет The New York Times, передает Газета.ру.

Издание отмечает, что выборы в Огайо являются даже более важными, чем прошедшее голосование «супервторника». Возможная победа в штате республиканца Джона Касича может сместить с лидирующих позиций кандидата от Республиканской партии Дональда Трампа. Если же Касич проиграет эти выборы, он покинет гонку.

Кроме того, сообщается, что волнения на митингах в поддержку Дональда Трампа делают гонку более напряженной. Сенатор Марко Рубио заявил, что в случае победы Трампа такая риторика будет разжигать ненависть и насилие.

«Представьте, что это значит для страны. Представьте, какой тон он задает нашей культуре», — заявил Рубио.

Ранее сообщалось об отмене выступления миллиардера Дональда Трампа в Чикаго из-за соображений безопасности. Причиной отмены выступления стали стычки между противниками и поклонниками республиканца.
