Організатором виступає всесвітній рух Amnesty International, діяльність якого базується на достовірних дослідженнях, на основі яких проводяться кампанії та організовуються публічні заходи, щоб допомогти жертвам порушень прав людини домогтися справедливості і досягти системних змін в окремих країнах і у цілому світі.

«У цей час ми пишемо листи, щоб приділити трохи більше уваги й часу тим, хто цього потребує, та показати нашу небайдужість. Надсилаючи сотні тисяч листів ми здійснюємо тиск на уряди країн, де відбуваються порушення прав людини, а також висловлюємо свою підтримку жертвам порушень» - пишуть організатори на офіційному сайті.

Кожен українець може попросити допомоги у вирішенні проблем, пов’язаних з порушенням власних прав, або просто написати лист підтримки людям, які зазнали тих чи інших утисків своїх прав.
