Консервативна партія екс-президента Франції Ніколя Саркозі «Союз за народний рух»(UMP) стала переможцем першого туру виборів до місцевих органів влади.

Згідно з попередніми офіційними результатами, консерватори та їхні партнери здобули під час першого туру виборів близько 30% голосів, повідомляє Укрінформ

Ультраправа популістська партія «Національний фронт» на чолі з  Марін Ле Пен, якій пророкували перемогу на виборах, отримала близько 26% голосів. 

Ще близько 20% французьких виборців віддали свої голоси Соціалістичній партії чинного президента Франсуа Олланда.

Одразу після того, як стало відомо про результати виборів, Ніколя Саркозі заперечив можливість об'єднання з ультраправими перед другим туром, який відбудеться 29 березня.

За словами Саркозі, «Національний фронт» «не вирішує проблеми Франції, а тільки посилює їх».

Після другого туру місцевих виборів соціалісти можуть втратити більшість у понад половині з 61 департаменту.  Унаслідок поразки партії президента у Франції може відбутися реорганізація уряду.
