Законодавчий орган Куби, який називається Національна асамблея народної влади, проголосував за закон, згідно з яким заборонено встановлювати пам'ятники Фіделю Кастро.

У зв'язку з побажанням Фіделя також забороняється називати в честь нього громадські місця, передає Reuters.

У той же час, фотографія, де Кастро сфотографований молодим у військовій формі та з рюкзаком за плечима й гвинтівкою висіла на площі Революції в Гавані після його смерті.

Кубинський революціонер і державний діяч, керівник Куби в 1959-2008 роках Фідель Кастро помер 25 листопада 2016 року у віці 90 років.

Брат і нинішній лідер Куби Рауль Кастро заявив, що уряд заборонить зводити пам'ятники Фіделю Кастро, а також називати його ім'ям вулиці. Таке побажання залишив сам революціонер.
