Проект Ukraine Today закривається з 1 січня 2017 року, йдеться в повідомленні 1+1 медіа.

"Проект мав стати голосом країни на міжнародну спільноту. По суті, у 2014 році це була єдина можливість для нас бути почутими. Але зараз держава взяла на себе цю функцію, і ми вважаємо, що нашу місію завершено", - йдеться в повідомленні.

У медіагрупі зазначили, що з урахуванням економічної ситуації підтримувати соціальний медіапроект при "нульовій зацікавленості" держави зараз неможливо.

1+1 медіа запустила в тестовому режимі мовлення телеканалу Ukraine Today 11 серпня 2014 року. У тому ж місяці канал отримав ліцензію на супутникове мовлення.
