Колишній керівник передвиборного штабу президента США Дональда Трампа Пол Манафорт таємно працював на російського бізнесмена Олега Дерипаску, щоб просувати інтереси президента РФ Путіна, повідомляє Главком з посиланням на Associated Press.

Видання стверджує, що у 2006 році Манафорт підписав контракт з Дерипаскою, за яким від отримував від бізнесмена 10 млн дол. на рік. Контракт діяв впродовж трьох років.
Агентство зазначає, що у 2005 році колишній глава штабу Трампа займався розробкою стратегічного плану, який «міг принести значну вигоду владі Путіна».

У свою чергу Манафорт підтвердив АР, що працював на Дерипаску. Водночас він підкреслив – його діяльність небула пов’язані із політичними інтересами Росії. «Я працював з Олегом Дерипаскою майже 10 років тому, представляючи його ділові та особисті інтереси країнах, де у нього були інвестиції», - сказав він.

Як повідомлялось, керівник Департаменту спецрозслідування Генпрокуратури Сергій Горбатюк підтверджує, що ГПУ попросила у Мін'юсту США допомоги в допиті колишнього глави виборчого штабу Дональда Трампа Пола Манафорта. Допит Манафорта ГПУ хоче провести в рамках розслідування справи проти екс-міністра юстиції України Олександра Лавриновича.
