Користувачі Yahoo стали жертвами найбільш масованої атаки шкідливого програмного забезпечення після того, як компанія, яка його виробляє, купила у сайту вільний простір для розміщення реклами, повідомляє Media Sapiens.

Компанія намагалася використати слабкі місця в Adobe Flash для того, щоб встановити на комп'ютери користувачів суміш шахрайських оголошень і шкідливих програм.

«Це найбільш масована атака з усіх, які ми коли-небудь бачили. Така атака є тихим вбивцею, оскільки шкідливі програми не вимагають ніяких дій з боку користувачів, щоб виконати своє призначення. Самого факту перегляду на сайті, на якому міститься оголошення, достатньо для того, щоб почати ланцюг заражень», - заявила компанія Malwarebytes, яка виявила атаку.
