Американская корпорация Google планирует поменять организационную структуру, создав новую холдинговую компанию Alphabet Inc., которая объединит поисковик Google вместе с YouTube и Android. Об этом в блоге компании заявили основатели Google Сергей Брин и Ларри Пейдж, передает РБК.

"Мы делали много вещей, которые поначалу казались безумными. Наша компания работает хорошо и сегодня, но мы думаем, что можем сделать ее еще лучше и подотчетнее", - говорится в сообщении, после которого акции Google подскочили на 5%.

Ларри Пейдж оставит пост исполнительного директора Google и возглавит Alphabet, Сергей Брин станет президентом этой компании. Новым главой Google назначен старший вице-президент Сундар Пичаи, до этого отвечавший за браузер Chrome и операционную систему Android.

Google будет крупнейшим сегментом (помимо собственно поисковика это реклама, карты, приложения, YouTube и Android). Менее связанные бизнесы Calico (исследования в области старения и долголетия), Nest (самообучающиеся термостаты), Fiber (высокоскоростной доступ в интернет), инвестиционные подразделения Google Ventures и Google Capital будут управляться независимо от основного бизнеса.
