Північна Корея створює власний часовий пояс на честь завершення Другої світової війни і звільнення від Японії, повідомляють державні ЗМІ країни.

Нині КНДР живе за тим самим часовим поясом, що й Південна Корея й Японія. Він на дев'ять годин випереджає Грінвіч.

Проте 15 серпня Пхеньян переведе годинники на 30 хвилин назад,повідомляє ВВС

Цю дату обрали не випадково: як пишуть корейські ЗМІ, саме в цей день 1945 року Кім Ір Сен - дід нинішнього лідера країни Кім Чен Ина - "розгромив розбійницьких японських імперіалістів".

Як заявила державна інформаційна агенція КНДР, "злі японські імперіалісти позбавили Корею навіть її стандартного часу", встановивши інший час у період анексії.

До того ввесь Корейський півострів жив за часом UTC+8,5 (на 8,5 години випереджає Грінвіч).

Рішення перевести годинники демонструє "непохитну віру і волю військовослужбовців і громадян у 70-ту річницю звільнення Кореї", цитує північнокорейська агенція своїх посадовців.

Не існує жодного міжнародного регулятора, який опікується зміною часових поясів, і переведення годинників - юрисдикція винятково самих держав.

У 2011 році Самоа змінила свою часову зону, перевівши її на інший бік світової лінії зміни дат - з UTC-11 у UTC+13 - і втративши таким чином один день. Влада країни зробила це, щоб полегшити комунікацію із сусідніми Австралією та Новою Зеландією.

Крім того, Північна Корея - не перша і не єдина країна, яка створила свій власний унікальний часовий пояс.

У 2007 році Венесуела вирішила перевести годинники на півгодини назад, коли президент країни Уго Чавес зажадав "більш чесного розподілу сонця" між громадянами.

Відтоді Венесуела залишається єдиною країною, що живе в часовому поясі UTC-4,5.
