Федеральна розвідувальна служба Німеччини (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BfV) заявила про мережу з фейкових профілів у LinkedIn, створену китайською розвідкою.
 

За допомогою сайту LinkedIn Китай стежив за принаймні 10 000 німецьких чиновників та політиків, пише Media Sapiens із посиланням на 
BBC. За припущенням BfV, в подальшому їх мали намір завербувати в якості інформаторів. Найактивніші профілі, ідентифіковані німецькою службою, використовували образ молодих китайських фахівців, а профілі створювалися максимально привабливими для інших користувачів.

«Це широкомасштабна спроба проникнення в парламенти, міністерства та державні установи», - заявив голова BfV Ганс-Георг Маассен (Hans-Georg Maassen).

У минулому Китай заперечував подібні звинувачення у кібер-шпигунстві, але ще не відповів на заяву німецької розвідслужби.

Раніше професійна соцмережа LinkedIn вирішила подати до суду через сторонніх ботів, які збирають дані користувачів. Люди часто оновлюють свої профілі в LinkedIn або змінюють основні дані перш ніж почати пошуки нової роботи. Однак, в мережі з’явилися боти, які фіксують ці зміни в профілях і потім сповіщають про це поточних роботодавців, попереджуючи, що їх працівники планують звільнитися. LinkedIn пообіцяла захистити користувачів та їх здатність контролювати інформацію, яку вони надають у соцмережі.
