«Голос Америки» фактично припинив роботу, але організацію не закрили. Керівництво Агентства глобальних медіа США  (USAGM) анонсує, що агенція буде «реорганізована» і зменшена в розмірах.

 

Про це повідомив керівник Української служби «Голосу Америки» Руслан Петричка  у фейсбуці.

«"Голос Америки" фактично припинив роботу, але організацію не закрили. Керівництво USAGM анонсує, що агенція буде "реорганізована" і зменшена в розмірах. Що це означає для нашої команди чи для принципів "Голосу Америки" —  не ясно», —  написав Руслан Петричка.

Також керівник Української служби «Голосу Америки» поширив допис директора медіаресурсу Майкла Абрамовіца, який підтвердив, що «Голос Америки» призупинив мовлення.

«… я дізнався, що практично весь персонал "Голосу Америки" — понад 1300 журналістів, продюсерів і допоміжного персоналу — сьогодні був відправлений в адміністративну відпустку», — написав Абрамовіц.

Абрамовіц нагадав, що понад 80 років «Голос Америки» грав важливу роль у протистоянні комунізму та фашизму, а також у боротьбі за демократію та свободу у всьому світі.
