Кандидат у президенти США Ренд Пол виступив з 11-годинною промовою, під час якої ані разу не присів, йдеться у сюжеті ТСН.День.

У такий спосіб республіканець хотів переконати американський Сенат скасувати дію закону, який надає владі повноваження читати електронні листи американців та перевіряти їхні дзвінки. Цей закон ухвалили після терактів у вересні 2001 року.

11-годинна промова Ренда Пола не була рекордною - його колега у 1957-му році виступав у Сенаті добу поспіль проти рівних для всіх американців виборчих прав.
