Консервативная итальянская газета Il Giornale вызвала возмущение общественности, приложив в субботу, 11 июня, к свежему номеру газеты издание книги Адольфа Гитлера Mein Kampf, пишет Deutsche Welle.

Премьер-министр Италии Маттео Ренци назвал в twitter "тревожным" тот факт, что современное периодическое издание в стране публикует труды идеолога национал-социализма.

"Мое сердечное приветствие еврейскому сообществу. Больше никогда!", - добавил глава итальянского правительства.

В свою очередь, председатель еврейского сообщества Италии Ренцо Гаттенья охарактеризовал акцию газеты как "неприличную". По его словам, речь идет об "ужасающей вещи" после многих лет детального научного рассмотрения факта о геноциде евреев.

В качестве оправдания Il Giornale заявила, что изданное приложения способствует формированию общественного мнения. Согласно заявлению газеты, "читать Mein Kampf - это верное противоядие против ядовитых веществ национал-социализма".

В январе 2016 года в Германии впервые с момента окончания Второй мировой войны была переиздана книга Mein Kampf с критическими статьями немецких историков.
