"Хоча консенсусу не було, переважила думка, що цю справу потрібно розглянути у суді. Наступний етап слідства буде проходити інтенсивно. Відколи Басукі Чахая Пурнама вважається підозрюваним, йому заборонено залишати Індонезію,"- зазначили у місцевій поліції.

Пурнама відкидає обвинувачення у богохульстві, але вибачився за свої коментарі. Натомість мусульманські групи вимагають його відставки за образу Корану.

"У цій країні керує верховенство права, залишимо його законодавчим органам. Якщо мене назвуть підозрюваним, я буду слідувати всім процедурам, винний я чи ні, я буду слідувати ним. Однак я переконаний, що я невинуватий,"- сказав Пурнама.

Понад 100 тисяч мусульман взяли участь у протесті із закликом до співвітчизників не голосувати за чиновника наступного лютого.
