Российская криминальная группировка скопила набольшую, коллекцию краденных интернет-данных пользователей, включая 1,2 млрд. пар комбинаций логин-пароль и более 500 млн. адресов электронной почты, сообщает The New York Times.

Согласно полученному докладу американской фирмы Hold Security, специализирующейся на сетевой безопасности, данные были похищены с более чем 420 тыс. веб страниц, как широко популярных, так и малоизвестных сайтов. Хакеры взламывали не только американские сайты, а и любые другие, до которых смогли дотянуться.

В группу предполагаемых злоумышленников входят десять человек в возрасте около 20 лет, чьи сервера базируются в России.
