У столиці Гаїті Порт-о-Пренс відбулися перестрілки: противники новообраного президента Жовенеля Моіза заявили, що вони ніколи не визнають його перемоги на виборах.

Гаїтянський бізнесмен був оголошений офіційним переможцем листопадових виборів у вівторок, 3 січня, після того, як виборчий суд виключив заяви про масові фальсифікації на виборах, пише ТСН 

Він отримав 55,6% голосів, а найближчий суперник Джуд Селестін отримав 19,5%. Як відомо, Гаїті досі оговтується від урагану Метью 2016 року, який вбив до 1000 людей, а також від землетрусу 2010 року.

1,4 мільйона потребують гуманітарної допомоги.
