Компанія Google представила бета-версію пошукового сервісу Dataset Search, який стане в пригоді науковцям, дослідникам і журналістам.
 

Нова опція частково працює на базі розмітки Dataset, йдеться у блозі компанії, пише Media Sapiens

Бета-версія сервісу доступна тут. Пошук зокрема дозволяє знаходити статистику, пов'язану з навколишнім середовищем і соціальними науками, дані урядів і новинних ресурсів на кшталт ProPublica.

Зокрема, при складенні запиту щодо статистики погоди користувачі побачать дані з NASA і NOAA, а також з академічних сховищ, таких як сервіс Dataverse, що належить Гарвардському університету, і установі Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), яка об'єднує дані вчених декількох вузів.

Google порадила власникам сайтів із контентом у форматі великих даних позначати його згідно відкритого стандарту, щоб спростити користувачам пошук у Dataset Search.

«Коли все більше сховищ даних будуть використовувати стандарт Schema.org для опису свого контенту, різноманітність і охоплення наборів даних, які користувачі можуть знайти в Dataset Search, буде рости», – прогнозують у компанії.

Зараз Dataset Search доступний кількома мовами, однак їхню кількість у майбутньому планують збільшити.
