Компанія Google розширила функції фактчекінгу в агрегаторі новин Google News, які були запущені ще в 2016 році напередодні виборів у США.

Тепер редакції та фактчекінгові організації самі можуть поділитися перевіреними новинами та статтями через віджет Share the Facts. У ньому публікаціям присвоюється рейтинг правдивості, а у вкладці «Прочитати більше» можна проглянути інші публікації щодо теми та прочитати матеріал від організації, яка здійснювала перевірку фактів у запропонованому тексті, пише Media Sapiens

Нині Share the Facts використовують The Washington Post, PolitiFact, FactCheck.org, La Stampa, Gossip Cop, AGI, The Ferret і Climate Feedback. Раніше він був доступний англійською, французькою та італійською мовами. Тепер його роботу розширили на шести нових мовах: німецькій, іспанській, португальській бразильській, індонезійській, хінді та японській.

Google також розширила свою мережу партнерів в галузі фактчекінгу, повідомляє Newsroom America. До ініціативи долучилися бразильська фактчекінговая організація Aos Fatos, австрійська газета Wiener Zeitung та іспанська El Confidencial.

Нагадаємо, у жовтні 2016 року компанія Google запустила функцію перевірки фактів, яка відображається у вікні розширеного перегляду новин. Вона спершу була доступна для користувачів в США і Великобританії. В квітні 2017 року процедура фактчекінгу в новинному агрегаторі і пошукових запитах була запущена по всьому світу.
