Главный редактор французского издания Charlie Hebdo Жерар Бьяр заявил, что карикатуры на пророка Мухаммеда были опубликованы для защиты вероисповедания. Об этом он рассказал в интервью изданию Le Parisien,пишет ZN.UA

"В каждом номере нашего журнала, где изображен пророк Мухаммед, мы пытаемся заявить о свободе выбора и защищаем свободу вероисповедания", - отметил Жерар Бьяр.

"Мы пытаемся донести и мысль о том, что Бог не должен быть политическим или общественным деятелем. Поэтому политика Charlie Hebdo — это защита всех свобод: свобода самовыражения, свобода вероисповедания, свобода совести и демократии", - добавил редактор журнала.

Глава католической церкви Папа Франциск, комментируя теракты в Париже, заявил, что не стоит оскорблять другие религии, так как у свободы слова есть тоже свои пределы.
