Глава Генштаба вооруженных сил Великобритании генерал сэр Николас Хатон обвинил Россию в использовании социальных сетей для манипуляции общественным мнением в Украине, в Эстонии и Грузии. Об этом он сказал в своем выступлении в лондонском Королевском институте вооруженных сил, сообщает «Газета.ru»

«Мы должны придавать большее значение силе мощного нарратива. В информационный век все акты физического насилия сопровождаются онлайн-компонентом, социальные сети используются для манипулирования общественным мнением и восприятием», - заявил он.

Руководитель британского Генштаба добавил, что «эта тактика используется, к примеру, Россией в Украине, в Эстонии и Грузии, и предполагает сочетание информационного оружия, киберактивности, контрразведки, шпионажа, средств экономической борьбы и прокси-войн».

Он охарактеризовал действия России как «военные тактики нового времени».
