Британський регулятор ЗМІ IPSO визнав заголовок «Королева підтримує Brexit» (Queen backs Brexit) газети Sun таким, що вводить в оману.
 

Рішення опубліковане на сайті регулятора, повідомляє Media Sapiens

Газету зобов’язали опублікувати це рішення повністю на двох шпальтах, слова «Рішення IPSO проти заголовку Sun про королеву» мають бути розміщені на першій шпальті, матеріал також розміщений на сайті. 

Зазначається, що заголовок, розміщений на першій шпальті випуску газети за 9 березня, не відповідає тексту статті. 

У самій публікації, написаній на основі отриманої інформації від двох анонімних джерел, стверджувалося, що Єлизавета ІІ у розмові з колишнім заступником прем’єр-міністра Ніком Клеггом висловилася на підтримку виходу Великої Британії з ЄС. 

Інформацію з публікації невзовзі спростувала кожна особа, згадана в статті, а Букінгемський палац поскаржився до IPSO. Регулятор також відзначив, що Sun не намагалася у своїх наступних публікаціях скоригувати дані про позицію королеви. 

Як передає The Guardian, редактори Sun і після рішення IPSO вважають, що Єлизавета ІІ підтримує вихід з ЄС. У газеті наполягають на тому, що знають більше, ніж написали в матеріалі.
