Как мы обычно фотографируем инвалидов? Большинство фото демонстрируют только ужас и боль.

Но Стокс сделал серию мощных, сексуально заряженных фотографий, которые показывают уверенных в себе американских ветеранов-инвалидов, которые могут гордо демонстрировать ампутированные части тела и протезы,пишет Lifter

Проект начался с Алекса Мински, морского пехотинца США, чьи ноги ампутировали после того, как он нарвался на придорожную мину в Афганистане в 2009 году. Мински задал тон всей галерее. Стокс теперь готовится выпустить фотоальбом в виде книги под названием "Всегда предан" ("Always Loyal").

"Некоторые люди говорят мне: "О, это действительно полезно для их самооценки". Или: "Вы позволяете им снова почувствовать себя мужчинами, - рассказывает Стокс MTV. Эти ребята пришли ко мне за исцелением, и они могут мне доверять. Как и все те, кто видел эти фото. Они доказывают нам, что главное - это иметь силу духа. Все остальное приложится".
