Документальный фильм "Русский дятел" американского режиссера Чэда  Грасиа попал в список номинантов на премию Оскар в категории "лучший документальный фильм года".

Он посвящен аварии на Чернобыльской АЭС и представляет собой копродукцию США, Великобритании и Украины, сообщает cultprostir.ua.

Примечательно, что зимой 2015 года фильм был признан лучшей документальной лентой на американском фестивале независимого кино Сандэнс. 

"Мы очень горды тем, что история борьбы Украины с призраками Советского Союза была тепло встречена большой зрительской аудиторией. Мы особенно благодарны нашему дистрибьютору, компании FilmBuff, благодаря  упорному труду которой "Русского дятла" посмотрели зрители во всём мире", – рассказал Чэд Грасиа.

Отметим, что Украина в этом году не успела подать заявку на включение своего фильма в лонг-лист номинантов в категории "лучший фильм на иностранном языке".
