Всесвітня федерація тхеквондо оголосила про зміну назви та ребрендинг через жарти в інтернеті і асоціації з абревіатурою WTF. Про це повідомляє Quartz.

Як повідомляється, відтепер федерація матиме назву не World Taekwondo Federation, а World Taekwondo.

"У столітті цифрових технологій абревіатура нашої федерації створює негативні конотації, які пов’язані з нашою організацію. Тому дуже важливо зробити ребрендинг, аби краще взаємодіяти з нашими вболівальниками", — сказав президент організації.

Він назвав таку реакцію федерації змогою розвиватися, адаптуватися і залишатися актуальними для молодих і сучасних глядачів.

Нове ім'я і логотип вже були представлені на початку Чемпіонату світу з тхеквондо у Південній Кореї.

Нагадаємо, абревіатуара WTF у сучасних інтернет-користувачів часто використовується у значенні "What the fuck?" - "Якого дідька?".
