Нова політика Meta вимагає, щоб відгуки, огляди, оцінки, рекомендації користувачів базувалися на реальному досвіді покупок. Також вона запобігає  нерелевантним, шахрайським і образливим відгукам на сторінках компаній. Контроль за відповідністю відгуків правилам Meta покладає на автоматичні технології, а також на людей, які перевіряють інформацію.
 

Хоча Facebook вже вживає заходів проти потенційно образливих відгуків, нововведення закріплює ці правила в письмовій формі. Нові вказівки Facebook, як повідомляє The Verge, захищають від людей, які залишають фальшиві погані відгуки як спосіб отримати відшкодування чи інші бонуси від бізнесу, який хоче догодити  клієнтам.  

Також вони запобігають мотивованими відгуками. Це стосується не лише фейкових поганих відгуків, що замовляють несумлінні конкуренти, а й надмірно позитивних (і зазвичай дуже розпливчастих) відгуків, за які компанії платять випадковим користувачам.

Заборонено також відгуки на сторінках компаній, які не мають жодного відношення до бізнесу, містять графічний чи невідповідний вміст або є просто спамом.

Якщо клієнт або компанія порушить будь-яке з цих правил, Facebook буде видалять спірний відгук, заборонить підприємствам доступ до тегів і списків продуктів, а також призупинить або заборонить «доступ до будь-яких або всіх продуктів або функцій Meta». У разі повторного порушення  можуть бути призупинені або забанені облікові записи користувачів Facebook.

Якщо особа, яка залишила відгук, вважає, що рішення Meta видалити його було неправильним, вона може подати запит на повторну перевірку.
