Представники Facebook і Twitter надали поліції інформацію про переписки користувачів соцмереж, яких підозрюють в підготовці терактів під час Олімпійських ігор у Ріо-де-Жанейро.

«Компанії почали надавати дані, які стосуються змісту розмов і даних про те, де були розміщені ці розмови», - цитує Reuters заяву судді Маркоса да Сілви, пише Media Sapiens.
На разі правоохоронці не розголошують деталі розслідування.

Представники компаній Facebook і Twitter від коментарів відмовилися. Однак, наголосили на тому, що компанії мають нульовий рівень толерантності до діяльності, яка пов’язана з тероризмом та іншими злочинами, та співпрацюють з правоохоронними органами в разі потреби.

Завдяки отриманій від компаній інформації, поліції вдалось знайти підозрюваних в участі в ісламістських угрупованнях. Reuters повідомляє про арешти щонайменше 12 осіб.

Нагадаємо, минулого тижня в Бразилії втретє за рік заблокували месенджер WhatsApp (належить компанії Facebook, - ред.). Компанія відмовилася видавати конфіденційну інформацію про користувачів, які фігурують в розслідуваннях поліції. Тому суд розпорядився, аби бразильські телефонні оператори негайно призупинити доступ до WhatsApp.
