Колишній президент Румунії Траян Бесеску і його дружина Марія подали документи на отримання громадянства Молдови.

Про це повідомляє Radio Chişinău з посиланням на Ану Самсон з адміністрації президента Молдови, пише Європейська правда

За її словами, заявка на оформлення громадянства була подана екс-президентом Румунії Траяном Бесеску і його дружиною 8 березня, і наразі перебуває на стадії узгодження різними інституціями.

Незважаючи на те, що для затвердження рішення про надання громадянства потрібен рік, за словами Самсон, колишньому президенту Румунії може бути надано пріоритет з огляду на його особливий статус.

Траян Бесеску вже неодноразово заявляв про бажання отримати громадянство Молдови.

Він відкладав це питання, побоюючись спекуляцій, які могли виникнути в Кишиневі. Водночас віні обіцяв, що подасть відповідну заявку наприкінці президентського терміну Ніколае Тімофті.

Траян Бесеску був президентом Румунії з 2004 по 2014 рік.
