Бывшего главу правительства Молдовы Влада Филата приговорили в общей сложности к девяти годам лишения свободы.

Соответствующее решение в понедельник, 27 июня, принял суд в Кишиневе, передаетИнтерфакс-Украина.

Кроме того, Филата лишили государственной награды - Ордена Республики.

Осужденный также заплатит штраф в размере 60 тысяч леев (около $3 тысяч) и не сможет занимать публичные должности в течение пяти лет.

В то же время гособвинение настаивало на том, чтобы Филат был приговорен к 19 годам заключения.

Экс-премьера Молдовы обвинили в соучастии в краже денег из банковской системы и пассивной коррупции.

Основанием для открытия дела стала явка с повинной бизнесмена Илана Шора, который рассказал, что премьер вымогал у него деньги, вещи и услуги на сотни миллионов долларов.

Филат был задержан сразу после голосования в парламенте, когда его лишили депутатской неприкосновенности.

Решение суда первой инстанции может быть обжаловано в апелляционном суде.

Напомним, ранее сообщалось, что бывший премьер-министр Молдовы, лидер Либерально-демократической партии Влад Филат, арестованный по обвинению в коррупции, решил сложить с себя полномочия главы партии.
