Колишній віце-президент США Джо Байден створює комітет політичних дій, що свідчить про намір залишатися активними в Демократичній партії та про можливу участь в президентських виборах у 2020 році.

Видання відзначає, що створюючи таку політичну організацію, 74-річний Байден посилає очевидний меседж іншим демократам, що він не збирається спокійно відійти на пенсію.

Створення комітету політичних дій "Американські можливості", який Байден має намір представити сьогодні, 1 червня, може свідчити, що Байден розглядає можливість участі в президентських виборах у 2020 році.

За даними The New York Times, комітет стане платформою, яку колишній віце-президент зможе використовувати, щоб розвивати відносини з донорами, здійснювати поїздки від імені партії та інше.

Видання відзначає, що у публічних виступах Байден завжди обережний при обговоренні своїх планів.

На питання на недавній конференції в Лас-Вегасі про його плани 2020 року, він сказав: "Чи можу я? Так. Чи буду? Швидше за все, ні", маючи на увазі участь у президентських виборах.
