Один з лідерів кримських татар Мустафа Джемілєв номінований на премію Сахарова, яку заснував Європарламент.

Про це йдеться у повідомленні прес-служби Європарламенту, повідомляє Українська правда.

"Мустафа Джемілєв відстоює права людини та права національних меншин понад півстоліття. Йому було шість місяців, коли його родину депортували в Центральну Азію разом з кримськими татарами. Він зміг повернутися назад лише через 45 років.  Тепер після того, як Росія анексувала Крим, йому знову заборонили в'їзд на півострів", - сказано в повідомленні

Джемілєв є одним з чотирьох номінантів.

 Ім'я переможця стане відоме 6 жовтня.

Премія Сахарова в галузі свободи думки призначається раз на рік європейським парламентом. Вона була започаткована у 1988 році.
