Дослідники виявили, що близько 60 позитивних коментарів та повідомлень від близьких друзів за місяць здатні викликати таке ж відчуття щастя, яке люди відчувають під час серйозних життєвих подій: одруження або появи дітей.

Автори дослідження спростовують висновки про те, що соцмережі вганяють людей у депресію. Експерти Університету Карнегі-Меллон стверджують, що в момент пригніченості і поганого настрію люди дійсно витрачають більше часу на соціальні мережі, оскільки спілкування з друзями допомагає почуватися краще.
