Колишній мер Києва Леонід Черновецький вирішив балотуватися в парламент Грузії в якості кандидата в мажоритарні депутати від Кобулетського району Аджарії, де він постійно проживає в протягом останніх п'яти років.

Про це він написав на своїй сторінці у соцмережах, пише "Українська правда"

"Я прийняв рішення балотуватися в парламент кандидатом в мажоритарні депутати від Кобулетський району. Моє рішення підтримали тисячі жителів Кобулетський району. Я знаю кожну проблему в районі і знаю, як їх вирішувати", - написав він.

В якій саме соцмережі розміщено допис не вказано.

Як відомом, рік тому Черновецький заснував свою партію "Щаслива Грузія", проте в травні розпустив її, заявивши журналістам, що йде з політичного життя республіки.

У серпні в Барселоні в ході спецоперації місцевих правоохоронців за підозрою у відмиванні грошей затримані 11 осіб, серед них – Степан Черновецький.
