Сьогодні, 18 травня, в Україні відзначають День вишиванки, який уже став народним святом

Національні мотиви в одязі поєднують з джинсами, кросівками і з діловим костюмом - так носити вишиванку ще у ХІХ сторіччі почав Іван Франко. Він одягав вишиту сорочку з піджаком.

Наразі вишиванка - це значно більше ніж просто одяг. Тут має значення все - і хто вишиває, і візерунок, і кольори. Наприклад, жовтий означає радість. Червоний - любов, а блакитний та зелений символізують духовний світ. Білий колір – символ невинності. Саме вишивка білим по білому вважається найскладнішою і найдорожчою. 

Смт.Решетилівка, що на Полтавщині - батьківщина цієї білої, як квітневі сади, вишивки. Про це нагадав голова Полтавської обласної ради Олександр Біленький, опублікувавши ролик, який демонструє всю красу такої вишиванки.

Також він повідомив, що виборює право цієї дивовижної технології зайняти почесне місце в переліку нематеріальної культурної спадщині ЮНЕСКО.
