Американский художник и фотограф Марк Губин написал на крыше своей студии, расположенной недалеко от аэропорта, гигантскую надпись «Добро пожаловать в Кливленд». Соль шутки в том, что студия расположена в городе Милуоки (штат Висконсин), на несколько сотен километров западнее Кливленда,пишет Взгляд.

Надпись на крыше появилась еще в 1978 году, с тех пор о ней рассказали тысячи газет и журналов, но ее вспоминают и по сей день. 10 лет назад издание Milwaukee Journal Sentinel опубликовало интервью с Губиным. Художник рассказал, что идея нанести надпись появилась, когда он обедал на крыше с ассистенткой. Она обратила внимание на низколетящие самолеты и сказала, что было бы мило сделать знак с приглашением в Милуоки. Губин ответил: «А знаешь, [какая надпись] будет еще лучше?» и сделал то, что сделал.

Претензий от властей города, представителей аэропорта или авиакомпаний к Губину не поступало.
